Led by Ruth Hegarty, who has over 12 years unique experience in the Irish artisan food & restaurant industry, egg&chicken brings together expertise across farming and rural enterprise, tourism, policy, business development, training and public relations.Ruth worked for 11 years as Secretary-General of the Irish branch of European chefs group Euro-Toques, which promotes quality food production & local food sourcing. Previously she worked with start-ups on business plans and feasibility studies through Griffith College Dublin. She holds a Masters in European Economic & Public Affairs, with a thesis on ‘EU Food Quality Policy: Protecting Europe’s Traditional & Speciality Foods’.
